The map provided here is based on the postcode of the venue.
Royal mail are very good at allocating postcodes to buildings
but much less good at lakes and rivers. Therefore where a
venue does not really have a postcode I have tried to find a
postcode that is as close as possible to the venue. This might
be that of a nearby hotel or even the village post office. You
should therefore always ensure you have proper directions
for the last half-mile or so to the venue.

The place opens at 08:30 but we would have had to wait until 09:00 to fish as the old guys with the keys were late. Open to the elements at one side and protected by trees at the other caused us to change tactics and clothing a lot. Fishing was steady by the afternoon and lost a very big browny. waited for the evening to improve but it never did!

I paid   :  £11
Stayed :  10 hrs
Caught :  7 rainbows
Best fly:  Viva and blob
Tactics :  Slow and fast retrieve deep and shallow

Lovely quiet fishery. Good sport on tiny black nymphs/buzzers. Prolific hatches most of year. Plenty of damsels and daddies. Most fish around 2lb mark but some much larger.

First time lake fishing. So this is the standard. Rainbows over 2lb stocked. very helpful bailiffs. Easy casting from bank. Take a good selection of flies, large wets and small dry blacks or very small dusters.
